LASERKEEP Update 1
Post Jam Update
This update includes lots of balances, bugfixes and tweaks added into the game. Overall, this update involves making the game less difficult and frustrating.
Additions:
- Added a Voice FX Slider in the Settings Menu.
- Added a crosshair for the Soul Gun when wearing the goggles.
- Added more sound effects (mainly for enemies and the boss).
- Added more animations for UI elements.
- Added voice overs for level names (starting from the 2nd level).
Gameplay Balance Changes:
- Laser ammo amount increased by (8 -> 12) (When upgraded: 12 -> 20).
- Lava does not instantly kill the player anymore. It deals 5 damage points per second when the player is on top of it.
- Reduced the delay in putting on / taking off goggles.
- Reduced enemy health (all enemies now die within 1 laser shot and 2 soul shots).
- Reduced ranged enemy movement speed (most are now static and less frustrating to defeat).
- Projectiles can now be destroyed by the laser shots.
- Boss health has been buffed (now requiring 38 laser shots).
- Added more Laser Refill Orbs in Swano and Lunar Temple levels.
- Time of level completion now affects the end score (the faster you beat a level, the more you defeat enemies & collect items, the more score you will obtain).
- Possible upgrade pickups were adjusted in some levels.
Tweaks:
- All levels were optimized.
- The quality of lighting has been reduced for the WebGL build to boost performance.
- Lunar Temple music theme has been adjusted to loop properly.
- Settings are now responsive (changes are made as you update a setting).
- Some UI elements' positions and sizes were adjusted.
- Some world elements' positions and rotations were adjusted.
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug where pointing at an item from a chest still showed interaction for the chest
- Fixed the mouse sensitivity being tied to frame rate
- Fixed a bug where enemies would continue damaging the player.
- Fixed many UI text overlaps.
- Fixed a bug where your score would not be reset after the start of each level.
- and many other small changes.
